From Aug 6: Of Sand & Ash - Presented by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI) National Design & Craft Gallery (NDCG). This new exhibition tells the story of contemporary glass making in Ireland today, through makers, their work, materials, and processes. It features over 60 members of the Glass Society of Ireland, covering a wide breadth of techniques and
perspectives. Of Sand & Ash tells a story as old as fire itself: the moment sand meets heat it transforms into something luminous, fragile, and enduring. Today, this ancient material continues to evolve, responding to present-day contexts and constraints, with new creative possibilities being explored through the work of contemporary Irish glass artists
